TRANSACTION CHECK®

See the Unseen.
Verify Before You Sign.

Scan and simulate transactions across 35+ chains inside Ledger Wallet™ before you sign a transaction. Block contract drains and phishing attempts with cryptographic certainty.

DEVICE INTEGRATION

Mandatory Security Across All Models

To guarantee absolute protection, Transaction Check® is now a mandatory system layer. It is permanently embedded in the core firmware of our entire hardware range:

  • Ledger Nano S Plus
  • Ledger Nano S
  • Ledger Nano X
  • Ledger Stax
  • Ledger Flex

THE CRYPTO GAP

Why Hardware Keys Aren't Enough

Traditional hardware wallets secure your seed phrase, but sign transactions blindly. If you are tricked into signing a malicious payload, your keys will securely authorize your own financial loss.

STATUS: UNPROTECTED

Traditional Blind Signing

Your device receives unreadable hexadecimal strings. You sign bytes without seeing the actual smart contract permissions you are granting, leaving you exposed to:

  • Hidden token approval drains
  • Phishing smart contracts
  • Spoofed recipient addresses
STATUS: ACTIVE FIREWALL

Ledger Transaction Check®

Before your key signs, Ledger simulates the transaction off-chain and sends a verified, human-readable safety report straight to your hardware screen, offering:

  • Real-time asset transfer previews
  • Authentic contract verification
  • Cryptographically signed risk assessments
THE TECHNOLOGY

The Simulation Pipeline

A mathematical shield built directly into your hardware wallet. Here is how your transaction is verified from dApp to Secure Element.

01

Transaction Initiated

When you click "Confirm" on any supported dApp, Ledger Wallet™ captures the unsigned transaction payload before it reaches the signing queue.

02

Off-Chain Simulation

The unsigned payload is dispatched to specialized simulation providers. The transaction runs inside an off-chain fork utilizing current blockchain state and mempool configurations.

03

Signed Report Issued

Simulation providers evaluate the transaction effects (assets gained, assets lost, and contract risk) and compile a cryptographically signed report tied to the transaction data.

04

Hardware Verification

The report is transmitted to your Ledger device. The Secure Element verifies that the report signature comes from a trusted provider and matches the transaction to be signed.

05

Clear Assessment

Your device screen displays the type of transaction, warning levels, and simulation details. You decide whether to sign or reject with absolute confidence.

CRYPTOGRAPHIC INTEGRITY

Bulletproof Man-in-the-Middle Protection

Computer screens and browser wallets can be compromised by malware. A virus could intercept your transaction and replace the destination address, making you sign an exploit.

Ledger Transaction Check® is specifically engineered to resist this. The Secure Element in the hardware device verifies the cryptographic signature of the risk assessment report. If the transaction data is altered in transit even by a single byte, the signatures mismatch. The device detects the manipulation and immediately blocks the action.

Hardware Secure Element

Report authentication runs inside our EAL6+ certified chip.

Zero-Trust Architecture

Never rely on what your computer screen shows you. Trust the secure physical display.
